Track This

Caveat - Generally, I do not have any issues with the US Postal Service due partially to the fact that I enjoy cheap mailing options and haven't really ever had a bad experience and partially because my father has worked for the Postal Service for most of his life and therefore I have the USPS to thank for food and shelter as a child.

I couldn’t help but to share this story though. As I wait patiently for a package to arrive via the US Postal Service, I decide to use the tracking number I was given to check the status of my package. Expecting to see something like the detailed report given when a UPS package is tracked, I was a bit let down to see:

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on March 29, 2005 to expect your package for mailing. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

Um, great tracking system. Do you really need to issue tracking numbers if your tracking system simply tells people "to expect your package"? Well done USPS.
